If you didn't have time to catch ABC World News with Diane Sawyer today, then you missed out on some little known Super Bowl facts. The main theme of the segment was covering everything on the field that is made in America. The turf on the field, the football, the helmets, the jerseys (for the most part), and even the coin that's flipped before the game are all made in some part of the U.S.
The official game coin is and has been manufactured since 1994 for the Super Bowl by The Highland Mint. Fans can have a piece of the Super Bowl with an exact replica of the coin. To make it a special collectible, the company only produces a limited edition of 10,000 coins, all individually numbered with a certificate of authenticity. Tune in to the game this weekend and see who wins the toss and takes home the Lombardi trophy!
